…for the week. Yep. Mom Dukes and I are headed to Georgia for my brother’s Change of Command ceremony. Congratulations, dude. I’m leaving tonight and I’m spending a week with the family. Normally, this wouldn’t take away from my blogging hours except I actually have work to do and can’t officially take any vacation days (trips to South Africa for the World Cup and for New Years will do that. And yes, I’m kinda bragging). Therefore, between entertaining my niece, entertaining my readers, and getting paid for a living, something has to give. Sorry, guys.
I’ll be honest, though; me taking a week off could have been avoided. I originally intended to double up on the writing last week so that all I would have to do is post my updates for the appropriate days this week. But then I got news that my homie would be in town from Senegal and so naturally, I ended up chilling with her and the crew.
In truth, I could have posted a Monday Meal today but figured that since I’ll be out for the rest of the week, what’s the point? It’s a shame, too, because I have several blog ideas bouncing around in my head. “Legitimate reasons why women make for good friends.” “Rules and guidelines to the new mack.” “My attraction to African women explained.” I was even going to defend the practice of ogling after a serious male bonding moment with one of the fellas, but I’ll probably turn that into a Side Order since admittedly the last two have been weak.
So what to do for the next five days? If you’re a newcomer to Biscuits and Gravy, you can take this time to catch up. The site archive is conveniently placed in the lower right section of the page so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding something interesting to read. If you’ve been a faithful follower since day one (thanks for the continued support), you can appreciate that I’ve been posting four days a week for the last month and a half and try to understand that a brother needs a break.

Enjoy yourself, Bro. I think I WILL take the time to catch up. I wish I could've filled in for you though. I'd love to rock this stage.
